I have Vegas 9e and have only recently started to use it heavily.

I have realized that my master output meter seems to read higher than it should.

Video with audio that was captured at -6 to 0 db reads 0 to plus 6 db.

Also, If I put a store bought audio CD into the timeline and play it, the master output meter reads around +6db most of the time. I cannot believe that they would produce a cd that hot.

All possible gain settings are at 0db and there is no fx in the output bus.

Is there something I am missing?

    Thanks

I am using Vegas Pro 8 and I too have the same problem any CD plays too hot.

    Using a calibration file 1khz tone @ -18dbFS shows as -6dBFS.

Is there a setting I’m missing somewhere?
