OT: I have a stock Dell DVD burner made by I dunno who. (I would check, but my render is at 92%, and I don’t want to touch it.)

My budget just took a major hammering. With Taiyo Yuden DVD-R media, is my stock Dell DVD burner probably going to do a good enough job to burn a master for CreateSpace.com, such that I should save my money for a new system? Or is a different/better DVD burner a necessity?

    And if so, whose?

If your current DVD burner is working, then it’s the best burner in the world. The choice of media far outweighs the selection of burner as all DVD burners are pretty much the same these days (the technology is so mature). Keep using the Taiyo Yuden DVD-R media with your existing burner and you should be fine.
