I’m really worried with this preview problem
Hey everyone!
I really could use some help with this problem:
I have couple of projects that I should get done during the summer.
I’m using sony vegas 9, and when I’m starting to edit, I can see nothing in the preview. There’s only a black image. The voices are okay and so on but I can’t do anything if I can’t see anything!
I’m using Aiptek’s camera, wich uses MOV. format.
And yeah when I render it it shows only the black image.

Are you using Vegas Pro or Vegas Movie Studio?
If it’s Pro, make sure you have the latest version as there was a fix for QuickTime (aka .mov) files in either 9.0d or 9.0e -
Also – make sure you don’t have that video track ‘muted’.

If you’re using Movie Studio or Movie Studio Platinum 9.0, the Readme file says MOV files created with Aiptek camcorders are not supported so it looks like you’re out of luck 🙁
Not sure if Movie Studio HD Platinum 10.0 fixes this issue or not. -
Yeah I’m using Vegas pro.
I’ve downloaded the latest version of Quickitime player, if it’s Quicktime 7? Is there something else I would have to do to get it work? -

Looks like I have Sony Vegas Pro Version 9.0c

Then you need to do an update to the latest version (9.0e) as there were fixes for .mov files in 9.0d and 9.0e

Alright, and how can I do that? (sorry, I don’t use my vegas so often to know these things)
