I’m having a problem in After Effects in several various effects but I’ll use Keylight as the most recent example.

It used to be when I clicked the color swatch in “Replace Color” a color palette would come up and I could scrub around the color palette and Keylight would give me “real time” updates to show me how the different colors that I am scrubbing through are affecting the “replace color” function. However now I have to choose the color hit “okay” then Keylight tells me how that color looks.

It seems like the actual color palettes that I have to choose from — none of them updates as I scrub through the colors…

I was watching a recent tutorial on Keylight and the instructor’s palette looked different than any of my choices.

    I recently updated to Mac OS X 10.5 (10.5.6) from 10.4 — does that make a difference? I’m running CS3…

    Thanks in advance!!

Did you accidentally turn Live Update off?

Nope — I thought that might be it too, but no…

I found the problem — when I unchecked “Use System Color Picker” in the AE general Preferences the interactive AE color picker palette (or whatever it’s called?!) came up. Now as i drag around the colors Keylight shows me an updated de-spill!

    Yayyyyyy!
