Now in your project, Wiggle Paths are animated using the Wiggles/Second parameter.

You can set the Wiggles/Second to 0 and animate either the Temporal Phase or Spatial Phase parameter (or both).

This also gives you the ability to smooth the start and end of the motion, resume the motion, and speed up or slow down the motion as needed.

I think the problem was that you were adding the Turbulent Displace effect to a 3D layer that had Preserve Underlying Transparency turned on.

In this combination, you needed to turn off the “Turbulent Displace” effect, or one of the “3D Layer”, “preserve underlying transparency” switches.

Try deleting or disabling the “Turbulent Displace” effect (you can add the “Wiggle Paths” animator for the gray shape instead).

Enable 3D for all layers and turn on “Collapse Transformations” for the pre-comp.

I think you used the Roto brash tool when the playhead was in the first frame.

By doing so, you created a keyframe at the beginning, and this does not allow you to change the beginning.

Switch to the right frame before using the tool.

Then you can change the beginning.
