Turns out the Filmhub site had conflicting info. In one area it said to only send a film with the ProRes 422 HQ codec, but at another place they state they didn’t encourage 4444 XQ because of storage issues on their end. Updated MacOS to 13.2.1

Downloaded Pro Video Formats.

Gave it another shot at exporting.

Analyzed it in Invisor with some encouraging results…

Format profile now is “422 HQ”

The overall bit rate is higher at 69.4 mb/s vs. 54.4 mb/s before.

What concerns me, though, is that the file size is still 39 GB.

That’s so odd, I’m positive I had it set on HQ both times.

Could it be possibly be a software glitch from the latest FCPX update or some incompatibility with Ventura?

(Not sure if these two facts have anything to do with it…but I just, within the last couple of weeks got the FCPX latest update…editing with older version. Also, in the last couple of week upgraded my operating system to Ventura from, jeez, I don’t know, one from a few years ago.)

I highlight all the clips in the timeline, drop the Letterbox effect on them and I see that the aspect ratio has indeed changed a tiny bit. However, unlike the FCPX tutorials I’ve seen online, in the upper right hand area of the FCPX program NO box showing “Letterbox” shows up so I can access the dropdown menu to change it to 2:35.

Hey there…been attempting to change the aspect ratio of a compound clip from 1920 x 1080 to 1080 x 1920 in order to create an Instagram ad.
