What happens if you export those images? Do they look the same outside of Avid? Which software are you using to watch then outside of Avid?

If you go to Settings –> Full Screen Playback Settings –> Display Colour Space, what is it set to?

We’ve had intances in which some frames of the files seemed to be corrupted. In some other softwares those frames were replaced with duplicate frames that came 1 frame before those frames, but in DaVinci Resolve those frames were marked as “Media Offline”. Those frames were marked as Media Offline even on export.

So far I had no problems with files that I have exported in terms of quality check when sending them to TV companies for example.
Would you say that the bitrate of DNxHD 185x is high enough for an archive master file? I’m thinking of also creating DNxHR 444 from now on.

To my understanding all DNxHD and DNxHR codecs are strict CBR, while the ProRes files are VBR.

Interesting. But Same as Source option doesn’t use the legacy QT for its export and is therefore not dangereous to produce gamma shift?

so far I’ve often used the Same as source option when exporting from Avid without any problems, even if the timeline contained various codecs (but always DNxHD), for example DNxHD 36, DNxHD120 and DNxHD185x. It resultet in faster export and produces the same result as if I exported it using Custom Settings to export to DNxHD 185x.
