Not an option as an independent software anymore. They’ve become part of a more expensive service. I simply can’t believe it is so hard to find a solution for this.

For the past years I’ve encoded an .mcc file with an mpeg2 for closed captions.

The old VideoReDo software has worked for this task. However, it won’t complete an encode lately. And it’s seemingly an EOL from quite some time ago.

I will be using a combination of HDMI and SDI. And I might could raise the budget some. I feel much better using scopes on the monitor vs scopes within PPro, but, that is just a “me” thing. I will be making a decision before too long.

I am looking to make a buy for a broadcast monitor 4K res and below and all frame rates, with built in scopes. There are so many off brand ones out there, not sure I can go there. I have liked Panasonic monitors in the past. Any ideas appreciated. Budget under $2,000.

UPDATE:

I did find my project. Weirdly, though, while searching I discovered an old library was causing FCP to disconnect every drive on my system! I will delete that project. Anyway, as you were.

Recently, like in the last few days, updated the iMac to Monterrey.

Opened FCP and while libraries and assets are still there, the projects (sequences) are all

Gone in every single library I’ve looked at. The events are still there, but, no projects within.

I only need one single project, and can’t find it.

Any ideas?

It is great for ingesting and rewraps, I love it. I need to find something for a PC.

For me, an elegant workflow from an SD card, AVC, through the rewrap function of EditReady makes one clean QT file for a 1.5 hour record. I now have a backup system, PC, and would love to get that workflow out of an “edit ready” like converter, especially with rewrap, no conversion, it’s so fast!

Odd thing today, encountered for the first time.

Some of my shortcut keys have stopped working. Especially the basics like cut and paste (Ctrl C and Ctrl V) My selection ones like Ctrl A, and deselect Ctrl D. Also Inverse (Ctrl I). Odd problem I’ve never encountered before. Some of the standard shortcuts keys don’t function anymore. Basic ones like cut, paste, transform(Ctrl T), most of the selection ones like deselect (Ctrl D) Many other keys still work, though. Really slows things down.

Trying to make an MPEG 2 with captions (or without, getting the same result).

Source File is also an MPEG 2.

All i get is an audio file with no video and what sounds like fast forward sound?

It was like this before my recent upgrade as well. Reboots don’t change anything.

Weird, I know? Any ideas?

During this downtime I updated to Big Sur and Premier 15.0. This has allowed me

to drop the .scc file on the timeline. However, i still need to export the caption file as an embedded CEA 608. The only options on Premier at export are the sidecar, or burn in video.

I’ve been using a T-Tap starting with FCPX only and it worked fine.

Had to add Premier Pro and the T-Tap would work on both apps, switching seemlessly.

However, that did not last long. Now, T-Tap works fine on Premier and doesn’t work on FCPX.

In fact, if my T-Tap is even connected, FCP will not open up at all, just a pretty beachball.

Any ideas?

We have to put out an MPEG 2 file for distribution.

I do have Apple Compressor.

Editing is done on Premier Pro.

We are already having the SCC file made out of house. I need a software to encode into the show. Everything I’m looking at is fairly expensive. I don’t expect PP to do that part.

After the weekly show is edited I send a small video/time code stamped clip to a service for transcription and creation of an .scc and .cap file with 24 hour turnaround.

I am taking some mpeg2 files that were edited in pp, then captioned with video redo. Now importing into pp and re-editing into a “best of” scenario. Of course, we want the previous captions to come across. Problem is I can’t tell if they are. With captioning enabled on the timeline, I see no text.
