Then Essential graphics pnl&gt; edit tab shows that layer (name of the text item/layer is same as whatever I&#8217;ve typed on the track). When I right click over it in Ess Grpc, the first option in the menu is &#8216;Rename&#8217;. But this &#8216;Rename&#8217; is always unavailable. Why? </p>

My way goes like this:</p>
<p>I just deleted the &#8216;media cache&#8217; (Edit Menu&gt; Preferences&gt; Media Cache&gt; Delete&gt; Delete Unused Media Cache files&#8217;. And now I deleted the old Color Matte and created a fresh one.</p>

It is clear that I was thinking wrong that PP either scans all clips and each frame in its memory (silly of me!).</p>
<p>Next I thought that since both child/sub clips were carved out of one master clip. PP would know about their frames similarity. (I thought somehow it&#8217;d know which frame is where, but again, after reading your answer, I felt so&hellip;</p>

<p>For most PP enquiries, StackExchange is nowhere to be found on the first page of results. <br />Mostly there is Creative Cow and Reddit.</p>
<p>This is great new news. I don&#8217;t know what has changed or changing (even may be behind the curtains). But Cow is ranking high.</p>

<p>It really helped me a lot. </p>
<p>I know that you&#8217;re emphasizing/repeating that I should tell &#8216;What do I wish to achieve&#8217;. To that I repeat that it is/was just a confusion about the concept of pixels handling by PP&#8217;s ProgMon. And confusion about why area beyond my frame gets transparent when I turn on TGrid.</p>

<p>Regarding my query no 2, I&#8217;ve marked the area (which I think shouldn&#8217;t be replaced/occupied by Transparent pixels) with yellow in new SS being attached w this post.</p>
<p>Area marked with Red is ok to be replaced, but not &#8216;Yellow&#8217; marked area (to my mind).</p>
