After searching for ages I found the answer 30 seconds after posting this!

Needed to look up the phrase ‘wiggly selector’. Admins please feel free to delete this.

I’m turning a normal font into a handwritten font using a few tricks, and need to do this dynamically to hundreds of titles.

If I could make the letter height a little random, and subtley spaced randomly I think this would really bring it together but I can’t work it out.

Maybe I shouldn’t have mentioned streaming – I really want to know if this is possible in After Effects first and foremost. I have a lot of things I want to do with this technique, and don’t want people getting caught up in this particular project.
