<p>You are correct in that I do not own a company.</p>
<p>Archiware actually represents very good value for money when you consider it can do both archive and true backup (eg nightly backup of a constantly changing file system, with point in time restores).</p>
<p>What’s the cost of losing all your ongoing edit project metadata? I would hazard a guess at a l&hellip;</p>

It’s a very mature product and the support is excellent. It’s doesn’t use LTFS but arguably that’s a strength for deep archive.</p>
<p>Have heard good things about Yoyotta but do not have any direct experience with it.</p>
<p><span>Stay away from Storage DNA. Very poor support.</span></p>

<p>Jim and I investigated further and the problem seemed to be that the Argest tape import tool would not recognise the 128K block size of the problem tape.</p>
<p>We were able to change the bufsize in bruxpat config to 128K and then use terminal to import the entirety of the data on the tape using  <b>sudo&hellip;</b></p>

<p>You do not need to use tapectl now.</p>

<p>Steps are: eject tape, power cycle drive, reboot Mac.</p>
<p>Open terminal, enter:</p>
<p><code>bru -xvvvf ntape0 “/Volumes/SAS RAID/ANTHEM restore from LTO"</code></p>
<p>If the tape imports, rejoice. If not,  read on&#8230;</p>
<p>If you then get this message:</p>
