I have some files missing in my project. The files are in my finder &#8230; but somehow FCPX refuses to relink them stating (I&#8217;m translating from French) that &#8220;<span>The original file and the new file do not share any data range. </span><span>To be linked, files must belong to the same data type, have audio channels similar to the original files, and be long&hellip;</span></p>

<p><span>I have installed FCPX on a new Mac an , when opening older files, I get an &#8220;effect missing&#8221; error, which traces to an Effect called &#8220;</span><span>&lt;font face=&#8221;inherit&#8221;&gt;<span>Object Remover&#8221; (I totally forgot where the effect comes from and google </span>&lt;/font&gt;didn&#8217;t&lt;font face=&#8221;inherit&#8221;&gt;<span> help).</span>&lt;/font&gt;</span></p>
<p>Any idea how I could locate the effect on my older Mac to reinstall&hellip;</p>

<p>I am puzzled about backups. </p>
<p>When one of my library went bad (damaged), I was stunned to discover that the corresponding backup folder was &#8230; empty. How do backup work? </p>
<p><span>Is there a way to make sure they are not deleted even after some time?</span></p>

<p>I have a very important library, full of videos, projects that are key to me. I opened it today (first time in months) and I&#8217;m greeted by a &#8220;The library appears to be damaged and won&#8217;t be backed up&#8221; message. </p>

<p>I rushed to back ups&#8230;but there is nothing there (maybe because it has been few months since I&#8217;ve lasted opened that library).</p>
