So for years I’ve been finding workarounds to this problem, but there has to be a Mandalorian way to do this?

You are very helpful! I never took the time before, but now I have set up my keyboard short cuts correctly for this. Scandinavian keyboards have hidden the square brackets on the ALT(gr)+number 8 and 9 keys so bracket short cuts have always been a bit tricky to use. I’ve set up a custom short cut, thanks to you. Set in-point on a layer or composition already added to a comp

Sometimes the layer or pre-composition is very long and I need to find a specific time to be an in-point and move that in-point to the time cursor or start in the current composition.

I have always been able to do this, but always with a lot of time consuming tweaking.

Any Mandalorians out there that can tell me “this is the way“?

A tip and free resource for everyone who uses AE. For poor coders like me I found that ChatGPT (Open AI) is an excellent tool to help me find answer for simple expression questions.
Google, online code services like jsfiddle or forums like Creative Cow are still excellent, but chatgpt adds nicely to the available resources, Scary and mind…

I’m setting up a AEProject – MOGRT for a lower third with “name”.
What I can’t figure out is how to animate and make visible only the first letters of each word separately. Lets say “Louis Armstrong” will only animate “L” and then “A”.
After a few seconds I will animate and make all the characters visible one by one.

Connect line spacing and character size

Hi everybody and happy new year!

In Essential graphics, mogrt file I want to be able to adjust character size of a text layer. I also want the line spacing to get it’s value from the character size. Now how can I connect those two?

I don’t seem to be able to pick whip the value in the expression panel. It doesn’t show in the text layer’s properties.…
