Was hoping this would be a nice portable and compact solution to having xlr inputs to my mirrorless dslr. So much for that idea. Hanging an external lithium battery pack off of the unit will be a challenge

As Pat said, either way works. For the smoothest full rez playback however, transcode the material to your final output format and then add transitions. Also quick render at the transitions gives the best playback

Place a black title clip on a track above the first image visual. Fade out the black clip and snap the beginning the fade out of the black clip to 1:00:00:00
