<p>Thanks a lot for your amazing work on this! I&#8217;m also in need of a similar solution.</p>
<p>I need to store the data as a value in a slider. However, using your method, I&#8217;m having some issues. It all works fine as long as it&#8217;s stored as a text string, but trying to parse it into a value seems to break the expression and just gives me a&hellip;</p>

<p>That&#8217;s a good workaround. Do you have any idea about whether what I asked about initially is simply impossible within the limitations of JS? </p>
<p>That is, if there&#8217;s any way to parse a non-numerical string into a boolean value?  Would be good to know for future reference. </p>

Ideally, I need to figure out a way to get around that limitation. I have a setup which feeds data into AE from a google sheet, and sometimes that data will mix different languages in the same sentence, like Japanese and English. <p>I have a dropdown menu that is supposed to react to data in a text layer. I can&#8217;t get it to work using a simple parseInt, and from what I can gather, that only works with numerical values(?). </p>

<p>Is there some other way to do this? Here is my expression so far:</p>
