I’ve had this issue a couple of times on my Mac Studio. I use APFS drives to edit. It was always FCP 11.x. I usually had to delete the file and reimport it to get it to behave reliably. Again this hasn’t happened often at all, so I’m assuming it was an issue during the import of that file. Not sure if it was a FCP 11 thing and if it was, no clue…

Final Cut seems a bit more snappy all around when the scrolling timeline is turned on. I imagine they had to rework a lot of code to achieve this and that’s why they resisted for so long.
