<p>I&#8217;ve recently added the expression below to a text layer:</p>

<p>txt=thisComp.layer(index+1).name</p>
<p>txt.slice(4, -10);</p>
<p></p>
<p>This is looking at the video file name below the text layer for the source text and then removing the first 4 and last 10 characters i.e. 01. <i>Banner Name&hellip;</i></p>

<p>I was able to tweak what you had in the file to do both the in &amp; out times using the script below.</p>

<p></p>
<p>For e.g. </p>
<p>Layer 1 is a text layer and layer 2 is a video layer.</p>
<p>Rather than having to manually adjust the ends of the text layer using &#8216; option &amp; [ &#8216; &amp; &#8216; option &amp; ] &#8216; I&#8217;d like layer 1 to automatically adjust to layer 2.</p>
