Suddenly, most of the controls to the left of the window have disappeared.  There used to be two columns to the far left showing all the icons – but now the far left column can’t be accessed (see attached screen shot). Thus there there is no “move freely” icon; no X Only or Y only icon;  no “Lock asp&hellip;</p>

I learned that doing a reset of Vegas Pro 17 (including deleting all cashed application data) would be best – but still, Vegas crashes (freezes) almost immediately.</b></p>
<p><b>CORRECTION TO FIRST POST:  Windows does NOT crash when Vegas crashes.  All other Windows programs and functions continue to work perfectly.  When V&hellip;</b></p>

I don&#8217;t have Vegasaur.  Unfortunately, import/export preferences is only available on Vegas Pro 18 onwards.  Rather than spend $100 on Vegasaur, I&#8217;ll get the Vegas 19 upgrade for $249. &#8212; And I&#8217;ll re-enter the preferences manually this time &#8211; hopefully the last time!</p>

Is there any way to save all my preferences, and replace them after the Vegas reinstall?</p>
<p>(Vegas 17 is suddenly crashing every 5 minutes, regardless of activity  &#8212; even when simply viewing clips in trim window.  The crash freezes Windows, requiring a system restart. Vegas is the only program causing the system&hellip;</p>

<p>On Vegas 17, the solution for me was to uninstall Security update KB5001330 (the update of April 14), and I’m back in business.  In my case, I couldn’t open any project that included 5.1 surround sound, and couldn’t drop such a file into a new project.  When I converted a clip to stereo, it worked fine – but of course I couldn’t convert f&hellip;</p>

(I’ve used Vegas for years with no problem.) I’ve searched all the forums, and have researched the error code that appears.  I contacted Magix support two weeks ago, but no help yet </p>
