additional information: the problem disappears when I’m offline 🤔

I also found information online that there may be a file “ae_render_only_node.txt” in my documents file and I should delete it. I couldn’t find this file, so that’s not an issue

After opening After Effects the menu bar doesn’t appear, what I can see is the menu bar of an app I just had opened. I cannot access it either, only after I switch to that app. I can’t find a way to fix it. I just restored my laptop to factory settings and uploaded After Effects, I didn’t use Time Machine.

2. Disable relative property links: Disable relative property links on the effect before copying it to a new layer. To do this, select the effect and go to the “Effect Controls” panel. Untick the “Relative Property Links” option.

Where to unclick “Relative Property Links” in “Effect Control” panel.

Thank you for the answer. The layer with the effect that was copied was still there when the error popped up. I want to try the option which you suggesting to disable the relative property links in control pannel but I can’t find where exactly. If you could explain in more details how I can do it that would be great. Thank you!!!

When copying effect with relative property links (roughen edges effect), the expression error message pops up saying that “referenced layer” doesn’t exist or was deleted. Then tryng to go back or even delete the copied effect After Effect crashes. I use After Effect 2023, on Mac. Please any advise of what may be a problem? Thanks!

the layer which colors flicker it is a precomp, in the precomp are layers from Animate CC. I tried and replaced this layer with the same frame exported to Photoshop and the problem stayed.

I solved the mystery – it’s all about Bone parenting. So by default bone which correspond with a tiptoe is parented to the tiptoe structure, when I change it and parent it to the toe structure all works fine.

I keep having a problem with Duik Foor Roll, after rigging leg with bones the Toes don’t work, there is no bend. Everything else works fine just this, I can’t find the solution. Does anyone know how to solve it? I attach screenshots.

yes, I always set up AI files to be RGB if I want to use them in AE later but still colors are very different, especially the intensity.

Once it worked like that: AI file very intense colors, AE very dull, then when I took the AE file to Premiere Pro it went back to be more intense, not as intense as AI bit close….

I have a question about COLOR PROFILES when importing ILLUSTRATOR files to AFTER EFFECTS and then to PREMIER PRO. Very often the colors are so different in those 3 programs. Does anyone knows how to set up the color profiles in those three programs to have same colors while moving files?
