I loved the 3D Cross Zoom in FCP7, used it all the time for logo fly-ins. But I have yet to find an equivalent for FCPX. I see lots of clip to clip zooms, but I’d like one that zooms from full to normal just like the ole legacy version.

Actually, the answer is to select the text in the viewer, then the adjust slider will work. You just can’t adjust it without selecting the text. Which is actually better, since you can select individual lines of text and adjust it independently of the rest.

I have several dozen text layers I would like to update the position to the same y coordinates. I’ve tried selecting them all and changing the y value, but it only changes the displayed layer, not all of them. Any way to do this, or am I stuck changing them all one at a time?

Well, they did finally restore the ability to copy and paste from a quicklook text document. I really missed that the most.

Is this possible? Nothing happens when I adjust line spacing using the typewriter effect. I assume this is the same as “leading.”

I finally updated from a early 2008 Mac Pro running Yosemite to Big Sur on a M1 mini.

I discovered that Quick Look doesn’t show half of the things I had back on my legacy setup.

Particularly, video codecs like animation with transparency! (and the other is the ability to copy text from a quicklook doc!)
