Well i really don’t know what’s up. I left it over night processing a delete, and when i came back to continue this morning they started going faster, a lot faster. i got excited and then after maybe 6-7 events deleted they started chugging again. I’m not sure if this matters but i had a second library from the same drive open at the same time…

Welp, i used fcs remover and then did a fresh reinstall. Same result.

I’m starting to think this is normal. The clips in the Event/Library are on the USB drive. Why? Because they’re huge. When an Event is deleted in FCP, it goes to the trash. Where is the trash? On the laptop. The status of each of these deletes processes under Background…

Oh god… permissions issues would be a nightmare. haha…. I wiped the fcp preferences with command-option while restarting fcp… no change: Right click one event, move to trash… hours to wait. Is that the same as manually deleting the prefs file?

Yea i deleted all possible render files and proxy files etc… i didn’t do the preference files tho. Will try that now. I’ve been going one event at a time, if i tried to line up a 3rd event for delete i’d get an error saying that i had to wait for current processes to finish. I’ve got a few TBs of events in a library stored on a 10tb USB3 drive that are taking a dogs age to delete. what process are you following? Go right to the folder where the luts are installed… not in fcp… in the Finder app. I posted the path above

Custom LUTs are in the folder ~/Library/Application Support/ProApps/Custom LUTs

surf to that folder and organize as desired.

Howdy, i just want to organize how my custom luts are displayed in the list under the built in luts and wonder if anyone can advise. I tried wiping fcp preferences but they still remained in the list. I tried removing/renaming the folder all my LUTs are in… still there when i reopen fcp. Any ideas appreciated.
