It turns out that (building on Jerry&#8217;s suggestion), if I create the new sequence, but as an XD Cam 422 1080i, it will be in 1080&#215;1920 and exports as such!</p>
<p>I haven&#8217;t tried Ann&#8217;s approach as yet, but will do so.  Thanks again.</p>

<p>they stayed at 1440x 1080, so it didn&#8217;t quite work. Which I guess raises the question of why I couldn&#8217;t do it? But thanks anyway.</p>

The footage was shot in 1080i and imported as MPEG 2. If I use the &#8220;match source&#8221; settings it produces a file that plays </p>
<p>&#8220;squeezed&#8221;, in 4&#215;3. (It says 1.333 anamorphic.)  If I set the pixels as &#8220;square&#8221; (1.0), it comes out 9&#215;16, but does not fill the frame. How can I get a better&hellip;</p>
