Panasonic 12-60mm. Lumix G vs Leica DG

I am currently shooting with Pany GH4 and my primary lens for video is the Lumix G 12-16mm, f/3.5-5.6. I had just picked up a GH5 that comes with a Leica DG f/2.8-4.

I am going to sell the GH4 and one of the lens because there is no need to keep both. My initial inclination was to keep the Leica lens and sell the Lumix.

GH5 firmware update

Just picked up an used GH5. Not received it yet. But I am making preparation to put it to use.

I want to make sure that the firmware is up to date.

If the firmware in the camera is 2 or 3 versions behind, it is OK to go directly to the latest version without doing the incremental updates?
