Good call on the fractal noise, and especially the gradient ramp! I was going to use fractal noise then animate a mask to get the expanding effect, but a gradient ramp is a great idea!

Anyone know what type of expressions or combination of things could achieve the effect of how the map is revealed in this video? I can think of the hard way to do it, by animating individual shapes, but wondered if there was a smarter/faster…
