That is terrible news. But thank you for the reply. Unfortunately I had no involvement in the original DIT process, so was given this to sort out. I’m going to try importing an XML of the FCPX edit into Resolve (my home territory) and see if I can do the replace there.

Sony Venice MXF workflow nightmare

Hi all. I need a brain bigger than mine to help untangle this mess, please…

The facts:

a) Three-day shoot using Sony Venice delivered as .mxf, using X-OCN codec UHD RAW

b) Some unknown tech used Resolve to transcode that original footage to HD .mxf in ProRes 422 to edit with in FCPX (matching file names)

c) those ProRes clips were synced in FCPX w…

Hi all.

I received a whole shoot from the Sony Venice — original 6k in X-OCN ST and ProRes HD transcodes for editing.

FCPX has no problem playing back the ProRes and I’ll be doing grading in Resolve. So far so good.
