VEGAS Pro preview lagging when editing — any way to fix it?

Hi everyone! I’ve run into a small issue in VEGAS Pro and was wondering if anyone knows a good way to fix it.

When I add a lot of cuts and transitions to a project, the preview starts lagging pretty badly, even though the original video plays fine outside of VEGAS. I’ve tried lowering the preview quality, which helps a little, but it still fee…
