<p>Thanks for the reply. The texture mapping was set to Planar YZ. When I change it to UV I am unable to see the texture (text layer). It seems that perhaps the map is way too big? When I adjust the UV offset the entire object appears white (the text color) or black  (the background). </p>

The texture layer is 5000&#215;3000. The scene layer is 1920&#215;1080. Draft textures is off. I have tried a few things with scale but will try a few more. </p>

<p>I have an object created in c4d and am mapping text on to it using Element 3D. The text is crisp in the text layer and in the pre-comp. Once it is applied to the model as a custom texture map it gets pixelated. I tried upping the resolution of the model. I adjusted the sampling and I adjusted the Preferences-&gt;texture map size.</p>
