Thank you for the recommendation. Today, (when I was using the software) I received a notification that an update is available which I could download (released in 2013.) But when I followed the link, I was lead to a page about brand new products and there was no update to be seen. I assume it’s long gone then.

I noticed on another forum that someone else regularly had a freezing issue during rendering with Sony Movie Studio. The individual that replied stated that reinstalling the software rarely fixes these kinds of issues. Though he did have a suggestion of resetting the software (clearing the cache.)
