Trying to get better at using keyboard shortcuts over here and running into the problem with the trim tool where if in the example photo attached i hit Trim Start then the orange layer gets trimmed not the clip in the primary timeline. </p>
<p>So right now in order to trim the clip I have to hit c (to select the clip) then Trim Start&#8230; This can&#8217;t&hellip;</p>

<p>I&#8217;ve just come across the paste timecode function. If your transcript timecodes are set up correctly then you can simply copy the timecode from your transcript and then all you&#8217;re doing in fcp is using a shortcut to paste the timecode in which moves the playhead to that point. </p>
<p>My previous workflow has been look at timecode, use&hellip;</p>

<p>Can anyone think of a way to avoid having to enter 00 at the end of each timecode when I use ctrl+P to shortcut the Move Playhead to Timecode function?</p>
<p>E.g. I want to go to the 23 minute 05 second mark of my clip. Under my current workflow I press ctrl+P then 230500. That’s because final cut has the timecode format HH:MM:SS:FF and fills f&hellip;</p>
