For years I’ve been able to control-click an audio keyframe in the timeline, and open a panel with the option to “delete hidden keyframes” within a clip that has been trimmed. Thanks, Chris. I tried this, and was brought to my profile. There are three files: MCState, the user settings with the correct .xml suffix, and the user name with .ave suffix. So unfortunately I don’t think this is the answer. Let me know if you have other ideas please.

MC 2021.12 SYS-ERROR crash on startup, seems to be Mac account related

I just got a Macbook Pro M1 and installed the latest Media Composer. It was working fine, then I messed things up by trying to change the name of my user settings. Now whenever I launch the app, I get a Sys-error message before reaching the project selection window, and there’s no way to get past it.
