I want to connect to it maybe thru RDP (or some streaming software) and let’s say run Premiere, do my thing, and then use nvenc to encode H.265 video. How to export HDR material?

I have seen HDR material that I have received that contain associated metadata such as this:

Color Range

I’ve noticed in some of my original footage that when I query the file, it shows a color range of “TV”. When I import that footage into premiere pro and export it the resulting color range is “PC”. I’m assuming I don’t want that. Is there a way to set it appropriately? This is HEVC HDR10 footage.

BSOD with HDR content

I have some 4K HDR10 content that I’m doing some cleanup on and re-encoding as HDR10 MP4. Hardware is:

Dell Precision R5500

Dual CPU

M4000 NVidia Quadro

96GB ECC memory

Using latest version of Premiere Pro as of this posting. I am getting WatchDog Timeout BSOD messages. I have also just tried replacing the motherboard which I happened to have one…

Does HDR10 content require software encoding?

I have some HDR10 content and am doing some editing on it and want to save it to HEVC MP4 HDR10 again. That said, all the articles I read about maintaining HDR say you have to do software encoding not hardware. Does that mean I can’t use my NVidia Quadro for encoding? Will take days to encode 2 hours of footage I think. I’m Ok with that, just…
