And yeah, the Tascam has actually 4 separate tracks – all controllable. It’s my cheaper replacement for the Zoom H4n that went south. Anyway – the problem was that you had to make sure the ‘pan’ settings for each track were set wide to full left and full right. The default setting is ‘center’ and I didn’t realize you…

I have two condenser mics (for the actor and the off-screen reader) going into a Tascam70D and from there into my Canon from the Tascam ‘camera-out’ jack. My mini stereo cable is working fine. Problem: the Canon is somehow mixing down the two…

(I actually used to post a long time ago)

Thank you, the article is great – (makes more sense than the Tascam site) very nice site to hook into – unfortunately didn’t solve the problem which I am not sure which part of work flow is the culprit. Do you have any experience with a Canon 70D? I think that the Camera…

Using a Tascam 70D to get phantom power to my two mics and then send the output into my mic input on the camera. For some reason I am unable on the Tascam AND the camera to get separately adjustable gains on each track. The input is coming into the Tascam as if both mics were already mixed to one track.… Read more
