<p>Usually 4K in MOV format, 150Mbps or 400Mbps 10 bit, mixed with 4K 60p in 8 bit&#8230;</p>
<p>I suppose I should be using proxies&#8212;that would be faster and easier than an egpu.</p>
<p>But..I AM curious.</p>

<p>I&#8217;m a video editor who works with 4K footage. </p>
<p>Would attaching an egpu be a MUCH faster, trustworthy alternative to what I have now on my my high-end (at the time) Macbook Pro?</p>
<p>I work mostly in Premiere Pro.</p>
<p>Here are my specs (attached).</p>
