<p>Luckily I don’t have any files on it. I was just hoping to use it as it is as a back-up.</p>
<p>You are correct: Seagate owns them now. I was hoping that would help. But when I chat (the only option) with tech support, they are obviously using an outside, overseas contractor who know quite a bit about hard drives in general b&hellip;</p>

I just upgraded my firmware, and when I finished it said I was successful. But then when I went to turn it on, no blue lights and I can hear a faint noise inside.</p>
<p>Also a Mac. Mine is an M2 MacBook Pro with Ventura</p>
