Thanks for your assistance. The solutions that I&#8217;ve found are: </p>
<p>1. Try and export in 2k or 4k so that I get the VP9 codec rather than the crappy avc1 codec that YouTube normally tries to give. </p>
<p>2. Increase the bitrate to 2 or 3 times the YouTube recommended bitrate.</p>
<p>3. Schedule the video publish date to give YouTube&hellip;</p>

This current upload was set to avi (Lossless) and I set the comp to 32 bpc. The file is over 3Gb for 10 seconds and it still looks awful. I tried slowing the animation right down but it doesn&#8217;t help. I guess YouTube compression methods means that it&#8217;s hard&hellip;</p>

(Please see YouTube video below for what I&#8217;m trying to do). I used auto-trace and keyframes and it looks good but there are a lot of jagged edges and I&#8217;m interested to see if there is a way of making it all look better.</p>

I see my problem was that I had the random statement in the same expression as the opacity &#8216;if statement&#8217;. I have put the random statement with the posterizeTime statement in an expression on an adjustment layer with a slider now and it works the way I need it to. Thanks again.</p>

Like an &#8216;if statement&#8217; on the opacity of a layer allowing the opacity to be at 100% over 3 frames if the number 5 is randomly generated.</p>
<p>There may well be a better way to do&hellip;</p>
