That works but is seems to be ignoring the mask i have on the layer.

I have this expression saved in my notes to apply a different layer to the backside of a 3d layer but it no longer works.

Change Backside Layer Surface to Another Layer

Add blend to layer. Add layer source and add this expression to the Blend with Original.

I am trying to make 3d text circle around a globe and end flat above the globe. I created the motion path I want it to follow on a null object. I know how to make text follow a 2d mask but no the null path. Any ideas how I can do this? The screen grab should help clarify.
