<p>You&#8217;re right that it is quite standard and essential for pro platforms and odd as heck that FCPX doesn&#8217;t have it, especially after so much time &#8220;maturing&#8221;.  Avid has always had it (and done it well).  Davinci has it.  Premiere has it. </p>
<p>FCP 7 (Final Cut &#8220;Classic&#8221;) could do it.  </p>

<p>After scouring the net, am I correct that with Final Cut Pro X there is no way to consolidate an export for round tripping, that is, with the option deleting unused portions of clips and specifying handles?  (For those not familiar with the other editing platforms &#8212; this doesn&#8217;t mean excluding unused clips, but rather excluding unused&hellip;</p>
