If I try to open it in photoshop on mac it takes ages to load. It stalls or at least is very sluggish. On the &#8216;progress&#8217; dialogue it says &#8216;reading video format&#8217; whilst the progress bar moves very slowly. (attached screenshot)</p>

<p>However, on my PC the same file opens very quickly and playback is fine. My suspicion is&hellip;</p>

I&#8217;ve tried loading the mp4 from desktop to no avail and also converting to mov but neither worked unfortunately. As it runs smoothly on pc I feel it can only be something photoshop mac version related. As whatever codec was used to create the video is supported on pc version. </p>

<p>They&#8217;re only small files/short clips (5secs) but take ages to load and playback is temperamental. This makes it unworkable.</p>

However, now in AE 2024 it is directly possible through the render queue. So I&#8217;m curious as to why I&#8217;d do this through the media encoder like tutorials suggest? Ideally I&#8217;d not bother with installing the encoder.</p>

The bitrate is CBR. Which I think should make it fixed bitrate too? But not sure. I&#8217;ve just learnt that the file is corrupted at 1:31 and that is the only point in the video that fails on playback through windows media player. This is seemingly stopping it from being converted, transferred or&hellip;</p>

I think the hardware is ok, I&#8217;ve been using a GTX 1080 and a fairly decent SSD for a while with no issues. </p>
<p><span>I&#8217;m thinking it might be the format of some clips I&#8217;m using. All of my stock clips work fine, it&#8217;s just the vlog clips I&#8217;m using via livestream software OBS, they&#8217;re the problem I think. Even though they&#8217;re all H.264&hellip;</span></p>

I was merrily working away on AE 2022 for weeks but just this Monday I ran into a MAJOR issue! </p>
