Jacki Sextro’s appointment further strengthens the young production house’s creative capabilities.
LA-based SixTwentySix Productions announces it has bolstered its creative leadership power with the hire of Jacki Sextro as Executive Producer. The addition comes on the back of a rapid growth period at the company, including recent high-profile work for OneRepublic’s “Someday” and Doja Cat’s “Need To Know” music videos, eBay’s short film about the three Peter sister’s shoe collection, plus projects for brands like Adidas, PayPal, and Dropbox.
In her new role at SixTwentySix, Sextro will collaborate with the company’s talented team of partners, producers, and roster of directors to further strengthen strategic growth while overseeing all projects, bringing on new talent, and handling clientele.
“As we continue to grow at an exponential rate, we’ve needed to expand our team to provide even greater access to our services for our clients and directors,” says SixTwentySix Partner and Managing Director Jake Krask. “Jacki’s ability to be a first-class problem solver, dealmaker, and entrepreneur made it very clear she embodies the heart of SixTwentySix — impactful, innovative, and ambitious. We have needed to bring in someone with the experience and understanding of today’s consumer culture to lead the Commercial Department, and we’ve found that person in Jacki. We are thrilled to work alongside her as we continue to grow our company and create content that empowers artists and connects current and future generations.”
“In a short amount of time SixTwentySix has built a reputation as the place to be for progressive, young creatives making iconic work,” says Sextro. “Austin and Jake just have an incredible eye for talent and a vision which in turn keeps everyone – clients, talent, and audiences – captivated and moving forward. They’re primed to make an impactful mark in this industry. I’m excited to be a part of the team and the next big thing.”
Sextro brings over a decade of experience in advertising behind some of the creative industry’s most renowned campaigns to SixTwentySix. Prior to founding her own shop, she spent time being a part of award-winning teams at companies including Hungry Man, Biscuit and The Directors Bureau. Working on projects such as Team Galaxy with Millie Bobby Brown, Crocs with Drew Barrymore, and Tommy John with Kevin Hart, Sextro brings expertise from a range of clients, agencies, production types and directors. Although her work is primarily focused in the area of commercial production, she is deeply passionate about independent film and supporting unique voices.
With a background in developing talent, Sextro will be contributing her expertise to the company’s thriving roster of directors. “There are few things I love more than elevating talent to the next level,” shares Sextro. “I look forward to working with our directors to continue delivering the absolute best creative, ground-breaking solutions for clients.”
SixTwentySix Partner and Executive Producer Austin Barbera adds, “This is a very exciting period for SixTwentySix. We are delivering brand-relevant and generation-transforming work for artists, brands, and agencies like the Adidas “Honoring Black Excellence” film we worked on celebrating the rich history and present accomplishments of Black honorees like US Olympian Jackie Joyner-Kersee as well as our work for SweeTarts’ “Be Both” campaign. In order to realize our ambitious future plans, we’re committed to recruiting the best talent in the world. Jacki has an extraordinary track record and is an extremely welcomed addition to our team.”
Though Covid immensely challenged the entire production company over the past year, SixTwentySix remained steadfast by forging ahead and championing its creatives despite the hurdles. Nurturing its current talent and being able to add more to its roster has also been an incredible accelerator for the young company.
Krask shares, “Our ability to respond and adapt quickly to change has served us well. We’ve been able to nimbly react to client opportunities and still produce the type of high-quality, culturally resonating work they seek.”
“We also advanced in increasing our wide-ranging strategic and creative capabilities in not only production, but also post,” adds Barbera. “Our sister company Pixel Post has grown and become home to a host of uniquely skilled artists working across editing, coloring, VFX, and sound. From the first shot to the final cut, we’re able to be an efficient, easy partner to clients for the duration of a project.”
SixTwentySix has produced and directed 95 projects since the pandemic. Currently, they have work out for Miller Lite, and Chevy for Commonwealth/McCann and recently received an MTV Video Music Awards nomination in the Best Alternative category for the Miles & AJ-directed Twenty One Pilots “Shy Away” video. Upcoming, the company is in production for clients including SweeTarts for Duncan Channon, promo trailer work for Marvel Studios, and Alec Benjamin for Elektra Records.
