That&#8217;s very helpful. Obviously I&#8217;m using a self-taught method that isn&#8217;t great for FCPX. Will also see why making keyword collections through ranges isn&#8217;t working for me. Might be doing something wrong. Because I see your point &#8211; I&#8217;m adding a whole step. And thanks for Alt-X &#8211; I had forgotten about that shortcut. </p>

My method of organising on FCP X (currently on 10.6.5) is to favorite sections of one clip (if for instance I do multiple pans in one clip, or like sections of an interview). If they are willing, it makes so much sense. It’s the kind of thing I was looking for but I know not everyone will be as excited as me. </p>

I think these translators will want a super simple option. I just need to get the formatting right from the start. So they provide timecode in to out: “00:00:00:00-00:03:05:22 tab description” and your software will interpret this correctly  and export out an srt that will be accurate on import? </p>

I see there is an FCPX SRT converter that will allow me to create titles as opposed to generic captions when I import, which is very helpful, but I would like some advice about how to get it into an SRT file.
