There is a simple (and new  to my workflow) combination of import options that I now realize are  the cause of the difference.   I&#8217;ve been bringing image sequences in and  checking the &#8220;Force alphabetical&hellip;</p>

Unfortunately, (and this is what is so weird &#8211; and I think what is new behavior),  After Effects not only looks at comps that have already been made when deciding what a new comp (with a similar name)&#8217;s new sequence number will be, it also now looks at the sequence numbers&hellip;</p>

<p>Is there a setting (or other means) of adjusting the following automatic behavior in After Effects?</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s say I have a bunch of source footage who&#8217;s original names each end in a sequence number, for example:<br />

<p>SourceMovie_003</p>
<p>SourceMovie_004</p>
