As a freelance doc editor, I’m a big Frame.io fan. Used it with Premiere and Avid, love the integration, super easy and fast.

The whole “sign in process” leading to confusion around “adding a seat” for clients to review and comment needs to be addressed better but otherwise, I really like what it brings to my process.

I’m a doc film/tv editor and in my experience with a 2018 MacBook Pro, 2013/14 Trashcans and now a couple of 2019 iMacs is that they are not set up to run a third monitor without some playing around. I’d say if you’re in a crunch, the simplest thing to do would be to cut with the director with just two monitors and use full screen playback…

Great points Jim – I find Premiere looses touch with it’s supporting files sometimes – like when the Media Browser won’t load a project the only way to fix it is to force quite out of PPro.

@oliverpeters I’ve always assumed it was related to the way it sometimes can’t access an auto-save folder on my Dropbox or Google Drive.

No easy solves but depending on how many sources you’re dealing with, you could sync your rushes, turn on dupe detection and paste the rush at the end of the timeline – cutting, pasting and replacing down the line.

Super labour intensive but at least you’ll have the problem solved in a (long) day for sure.
