I have a feeling my solution is either: 1) simple but not really satisfactory; or 2) satisfactory but not simple at all. </p>
<p>My only saving grace is that I told the client in advance of the shot: &#8220;If the sun gets bright during the shoot, that profile with the wall of windows is likely to be badly&hellip;</p>

<p>I&#8217;m just wondering if any of you have suggestions for how to possibly color correct a shot better than what I&#8217;m doing. We shot in front of big glass windows that were bright. We did not use LOG (trying to remember why, but it didn&#8217;t happen!!). </p>

BUT if the SATA drives only deliver 500 MB/sec at RAID 0, then it shouldn&#8217;t have really mattered if initially I was plugged into the USB 3.1 rather than the thunderbolt, right? (assuming I wasn&#8217;t using any of the other ports, which I wasn&#8217;t)</p>

Right now I&#8217;m using SanDisk Extreme Portable, but that&#8217;s actually the reason why I started to investigate other options. It seems both this drive and the G Drive max out at 2TB. I need something that has greater capacity. So that&#8217;s why the dock seemed appealing &#8211; buy the &#8220;bare&#8221; SDD drives at lower cost (and larger than 2TB),&hellip;</p>

<p>Following up on your note from your first response, in which you suggested that the drive might need a settings adjustment to avoid going to sleep,  I did a little sleuthing. Sure enough, others were having the same issue, and one recommendation was to send a command through Apple&#8217;s Terminal app to instruct the drive to remain&hellip;</p>

I used the Thunderbolt connection with the array, of course. I left it as a RAID 0, thinking this would give me the most speed</span></p>

I have usb 3, but a quick google search tells me that thunderbolt 3 (assuming the laptops my camera people are using have thunderbolt 3 ports) has a transfer speed of 40Gbps. </p>
<p>Transferring with a usb c drive attached to my computer, according to Google, is 10 Gbps.  And, besides, even if I have a usb c attached to my usb 3 port, aren&#8217;t I&hellip;</p>

I&#8217;m basically getting the thunderbolt 3 to make my camera people happy, so they can download their footage faster using THEIR newer laptops with my thunderbolt drive.</p>
<p>Until the M1 version of the Mac Pro comes out, my process is painful. Thunderbolt 3 &gt; adaptor &gt; early 2015 laptop &gt; USB 3 drive and then plug that USB 3&hellip;</p>

I&#8217;ve been using SLOW USB 2 drives to transfer media at the end of my film shoots and I was able to get away with this for awhile, but now I need to up my game and actually use the two thunderbolt ports on my MacBook Pro Early 2015 to make things a little quicker. </p>
