Although Corel looks cheaper to buy…I have no experience with it.

At least with Vegas I can get straight to it without having to spend too much time relearning basics.

Just doing a straight forward conversion of mp4 file to dvd.

Speed is important but i also care about a fairly decent quality conversion (i always opt for 2 pass encoding).

The question is …will Sony Vegas pro give me a quicker (or noticeably better quality) video conversion than other free alternatives?
