Interesting that Apple highlighted DaVinci Pro—not Apple’s own editor—in the keynote presentation on Apple Vision. Just wondering what that means for the future of Final Cut Pro.

In some ways I’d like to convert the video to a prores 422 version and then import it into FCP. I guess there’s not a utility you’re aware of that can do that? The folders are called “untitled” so I don’t think anybody has messed with it. I can import the audio and video and line it up in a timeline, which matches perfectly. But that is a pain.

Thanks so much Jeremy. Looks like that works on some of them. On others, I can import the audio and video but FCP doesn’t put them together. Also, it requires that I “copy to library” instead of “leave files in place.” (This is a huge project where I was going to create a proxy workflow.)

Someone sent me some old interviews (2010) that have this weird structure. See attached. When I import it into FCP 10.5.3 I get the video but no audio. Thoughts?

In hunting through the internet I can find very little on what the settings in cross dissolve do. For example, what’s the difference between film or video setting? What about all the other settings in between (bright, dark, cold, warm, additive, subtractive, etc.)? Anybody know where to look for a visual demo of these or a discussion of them?…
