<p>A simple workaround is to precompose your time-reversed layer before tracking. </p>
<p>I just backed up and did that and it was smooth sailing.</p>

<p>It seems to be in cases where I&#8217;ve copied and pasted a layer style from one layer to another or imported a PSD with existing layer styles.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve used AE for decades and this feels like a recent development.</p>
