I’ve got a number of custom generators that I’ve created for clients over the years, and one of these is exhibiting some strange behavior. It’s a simple one with a customizable background element, and two instances of a logo (pdf with transparency).

When I created the generator, the imported pdf version of the logo needed some color correction, so I applied the Color Wheels filter and made my adjustments in Motion. Everything was good and working fine for years. Then I updated to the latest versions of Final Cut (10.5) and Motion (4.5) this morning. The workstation is still on Catalina. The logo is now completely transparent unless I turn off the filter. None of the parameters are published for the adjustment.

I noticed the problem when I opened a project with this generator in Final Cut, and the logo was gone. After some investigation I found that turning off the filter restores the logo. Deleting the correction and adding a new instance of Color Wheels also creates this problem.

    Anyone else seeing this?

EDIT: I can bork any of my custom logo generators by simply adding this filter to the pdf instance of the logo.

EDIT 2: Setting the filter’s Mix to 99.99% in the Motion project brings the logo back everywhere, so for now that’s what I’ll do.
