Hi! I am currently working on a 3D project in lightwave and we have decided to do the DOF and Fog in After Effects. I have searched and searched and here is what I have come up with.

Here is how I am going to do the DOF:
    1. Render 5 separate Layers out of LW(background, midground 3, midground2, midground 1, foreground).
    2. Render each respective depth pass as an EXR.
    3. Use the lens blur in AE CS3 to do the DOF.

    Here is my question:
Can I use the same passes to do the FOG? I know how to do the fog by rendering out an RPF and using the 3D fog plugin but I was hoping to not have to render out an RPF along with the EXR files. The way I am rendering the DOF, I will have a separate depth pass…it won’t be part of the same file like it would in an RPF or RLA.

    Thanks,
