Final Cut Pro X – fluorescent pixelations of menu across screen

Hi,

I wondered if anyone might have an idea what was going on here? (See photo – it’s not so easy to show what’s going on in the photo but I can’t upload video) When I open Final Cut Pro X and hover my mouse over the file menu before opening a project, fluorescent pink pixelated versions of the menu flicker across the screen. It’s not possible to open a project and edit while this is happening so I have to quit the programme. I’ve tried Googling and Apple discussions but there doesn’t seem to be anything that relates to this particular issue. The only thing that could be close to it is that it’s a GPU issue but I have no idea.
